Sorceress
Overview
An intelligence-based caster focused on elemental magic, able to devastate hordes with wide-area spells or burst down bosses with a single powerful cast. Switch between staves for different elemental specializations mid-fight.
Playstyle Notes
- Elemental ailments (Shock, Freeze, Ignite) are a core part of the class's damage identity, not just a side benefit
- Stormweaver is the easiest of the two Ascendancies to level with by a wide margin
- Chronomancer's time-manipulation kit has one of the highest skill ceilings in the game, strong at endgame, weaker during the campaign
Good For
- Players who want a smooth, forgiving elemental caster league starter
- Anyone who enjoys strategic, timing-based combat via Chronomancer once past the early game
- Fans of clear-speed-focused mapping builds
Choosing an Ascendancy
Choosing an Ascendancy
Stormweaver is the consensus recommended starting Ascendancy regardless of your eventual endgame target, it levels the smoothest and clears maps fast. Chronomancer is a strategic, boss-killing specialist that’s genuinely weak during the campaign but rewards mastering its Time Freeze windows at endgame. Disciple of Varashta is the class’s summoner option, commanding permanent Djinn, flexible, but generally rated behind the other two for players chasing pure damage output.
